About me

I live and work in Hastings. Before then, Brighton for twenty years. I didn’t grow up by the sea, but I can’t imagine leaving it behind.

I’m a film photographer, mainly, and a home-made pinhole camera photographer occasionally. I enjoy the process of stripping down the number of decisions I need to make to a bare minimum, reducing the gap between my imagination and the resulting image as much as possible. Currently, I most often use an old bakelite film camera which has no controls at all, a hopeless viewfinder and a huge appetite for fun. It’s resuscitated a childish sense of adventure, asking it to do absurd things and seeing how it responds.
